Kune Kune

The Kune Kune (meaning fat) pigs origin is most likely Asian, developing into their current form in New Zealand.  They were traditionally kepy by Maori communities.  Kune Kune pigs have characteristic cheek tassels (Piri Piri) and short snouts.

They are very friendly animals and have a gentle nature.  Kune Kune pigs make great pets, and can be taught tricks like sitting on command.

Captain Cookers

First introduced by Captain Cook in 1769 – 70, Captain Cooker pigs are found throughout New Zealand and are highly prized by hunters for their lean tasty meat. Come to Paradise Valley Springs where you will get to know Barney the boar, and his Captain Cooker family.
